But that doesn’t mean it’s not worth it.
I’m a huge advocate for HubSpot. It’s the main platform I use, the one I recommend and use with all my clients, and the one I’ve built much of my work around. So let me start by saying this isn’t a dig at HubSpot, it’s just a real-world observation from someone who’s walked a lot of teams through the setup process.
If you’re a small business or mission-driven organization trying to grow, it’s easy to get excited about the possibilities: better follow-up, streamlined communication, clear reporting, automation that actually works. HubSpot can do all of that, and more.
But the moment you land on the HubSpot CRM pricing page, that excitement can quickly turn into confusion.
The reality is that HubSpot is designed to scale. It serves massive enterprises and solo founders alike. That’s part of what makes it so powerful. But it also means the platform comes with a lot of options—Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, Service Hub, Operations, CMS… and within each, multiple tiers with different features, limitations, and pricing structures.
I’ve sat with teams staring at the pricing table, wondering:
“Wait, do we need this tier just for one feature?”
“Why does it say $20/month but the quote we got is $900?”
“Can we just start somewhere simple?”
If you’ve asked any of those questions, you’re not alone. HubSpot’s pricing isn’t meant to be misleading, it’s just built for flexibility. But without someone to walk you through it, it can feel like a maze.
One of the most common mistakes I see is trying to make decisions based on features or price alone, instead of starting with a clear understanding of what your business actually needs right now.
Maybe you’re overwhelmed with leads and need better automation. Maybe you’re just trying to get a handle on your contacts and create consistent follow-up. Maybe you’re managing donations or customer journeys across multiple platforms and you’re ready for something more unified.
The point is: there isn’t a one-size-fits-all path forward. And honestly, there shouldn’t be. That’s part of why I love HubSpot, because when it’s set up intentionally, it really does scale with you.
I work with organizations every week who are asking the same thing you are:
Where should we start? What plan makes sense for us? And how do we know we’re not overpaying, or underbuilding?
That’s where I come in.
If you’re trying to make sense of HubSpot and want to make a smart, informed decision, I’d love to help. No pressure. No hard sell. Just a conversation about what you’re building and what system would support that best.
