Moccamaster Coffee Ratio: How To Get The Best Brew

I love my Technivorm Moccamaster. It’s the machine my wife and I come back to when we just want an easy, consistent cup of coffee in the morning, without fuss. But if you’re anything like me, you’ve probably Googled “how much coffee do I actually use in this thing?” more than once.

So here it is, no fluff, no fancy brewing theory, just the coffee-to-water ratio I use every day with my Moccamaster to get a solid, balanced brew.

The Best Moccamaster Coffee Ratio

I use my Moccamaster every morning, usually brewing for two people since I work from home. After a lot of trial and error, I’ve landed on a couple go-to brews that just work.

  • 1/4 liter : 15g of coffee : Quick Single Cup
  • 1/2 liter : 30g of coffee : If you need a few pours.
  • 3/4 liter : 45g of coffee : Great for two people.
  • 1 liter : 60g of coffee : Two work from home people.

That’s it. No guesswork. Just a smooth, balanced cup every time.

A super important part of this process is that I weigh everything with a digital scale and grind using the Fellow Ode Brew Grinder on setting 4-6 depending on the beans.

Here’s the Amazon link to the grinder I use.

Why It Matters

Getting the ratio right means:

  • You stop wasting good beans on weak brews

  • Every cup tastes the way the roaster intended

  • You get consistent results every time
